Baby Room (0-2 Years)

We have a bright and inviting room for babies aged from 3 months to approximately 23 months. The staff will provide a high standard of care and attention to your child enabling them to develop and grow.

This is a self-contained area with sleep mats and cots available for sleep time and nappy changing facilities.

Toddler Room (2-3 Years)

This is a caring and stimulating place to be. We have a child centred approach which allows us to provide a wide variety of fun activities for your child. We provide a balance of adult led and children’s own choice of activities. Activities include imaginative play, physical play, both gross and fine motor, construction, stories, singing, cooking, creative activities and many more!!!

Pre-School Room (3+ Years)

The Pre-School room is an open plan and consists of a role play area, creative area, cosy area and a calm room. There are a wide range of activities that take place in this room to enable your child to work towards achieving the Early Learning Goals of the EYFS.

We offer your child the same experiences and opportunities for learning as a school nursery but we have the advantage of a higher staff ratio of 1:8.
We will enable your child to gain many skills such as self-help, social skills, communication and language and listening and concentration which are all needed for a smooth transition to school.

Quiet Room

The quiet room is a calm and peaceful space designed to support children’s emotional wellbeing. It provides a gentle environment where children can unwind, self-regulate, and take a break from busier activities throughout the day. With soft furnishings, warm lighting, and a cosy, homely atmosphere, the room encourages relaxation and quiet reflection.

This space is ideal for children who may feel overwhelmed or simply need a moment to themselves. It helps nurture emotional awareness and supports the development of self-soothing skills. Staff are on hand to offer comfort and reassurance as needed, ensuring every child feels safe, listened to, and cared for.

The Garden

Our secure garden has a wet pour rubber surface which ensures the children can use the outdoor area in all weather conditions and as often as possible we will aim to have lots of ‘inside’ activities ‘outside’.  We have a mud kitchen and the children grow their own fruit and vegetables.  Please provide your child with suitable clothes for each season, such as sunhat and sun cream/ wellies, warm coat, hat, scarf and gloves.

Opening Hours

We are open from 7:30am in the morning and close at 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
The nursery is closed at weekends, all bank holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.

Communication

There is always a member of the management team on hand to discuss any aspects of your child’s care and development.
The nursery staff are qualified or working towards their qualification. They are chosen for their caring nature and their ability to interact very well with babies and young children.
There is an Under 3’s and Over 3’s Co-ordinator who is responsible for the efficient running of their areas.
We have a key person system that ensures the individual needs of each child are met.

Settling In

Before your child starts at Harry’s Day Nursery it is important that they settle in and get to know their key person. To facilitate this, we will arrange for you to bring your child to the setting for settling in sessions. These visits will enable your child and you to become confident and familiar with staff and the other children, as well as the daily routines of the nursery.

You are welcome to phone or e-mail the nursery at any time. Each day we will communicate to you details of your child’s day at nursery, through daily diaries. We use Tapestry to observe and assess your child and this information is shared with you and likewise you can add your child’s journey from home.
To keep in touch, we regularly send out e-mails and newsletters to inform you of forthcoming events.
There are Parent notice boards on display to inform you of any events and useful information that you may need.
